Rockin R Rides has been offering trail rides in the Black Hills for 25 seasons! But we actually got our start in Tucson, AZ in 1998, expanding to the COD ranch outside of Oracle, AZ.
Beautiful mile high riding in the northern foothills of the Catalina Mountains.
   In 2000, the Allen Ranch in Hot Springs, provided an opportunity to offer rides in the Black Hills. Once again, amazing riding across the Fall River and up into the southern hills.
   Our expansion into the Custer area occurred in 2003 when the Heritage Village stable became available. We spent the next 20 seasons growing into a bigger, bustling stable with Crazy Horse Memorial as a backdrop! The Buckhorn range of the Black Hills offered a great mix of riding for novice to more experienced clients.
After 20 seasons of growth; it was time to slow down. In 2023, we downsized to a much smaller operation at our Willow Creek location. And once again – fabulous riding with views of Castle Rock and
the Needles in the distance. And while we truly enjoyed the smaller more intimate setting; all good things must come to an end! And while we will still be in Custer working and horsing around – it is time to close this chapter.

   Owner, Randy, has many years of guiding pack trips and trail rides in WY, ID, AZ as well as 20 plus years in the Black Hills. He is also the farrier who keeps the horses feet in top shape.

   Head Wrangler, Kat, has been with Rockin R for 16+ seasons and is one of the most highly skilled guides in the Black Hills. She knows the horses, trails and history intimately having innumerable hours in the saddle. She also helps keep the horses in top shape being Masterson Method certified equine bodyworker as well.
